Message from Annie Sugier, President of Ligue du Droit International des Femmes (LDIF) :

LET US SUPPORT THE UNIVERSALITY OF HUMAN RGHTS AS STATED IN THE OLYMPIC CHARTER !

Let us support saudi and iranian women seeking to shake off sexual apartheid. They are arrested, tortured, for wanting to regain their rights.

Sports is one of their battlefields.

In view of the Paris 2024 Olympics and Paralympics we launch an APPEAL to the Organizing Committee that we hope you will support.

Please send your answer to the League of International Rights of Women, Association founded by Simone de Beauvoir at the following address: appliquerlacharteolympique@gmail.com.

This initiative is supported by 300 personalities and more than 80 NGO.

WHY AN APPEAL TO PARIS 2024 ORGANIZING COMMITTEE?

The universality of human rights is at the heart of the Olympic Charter and the City of Paris insisted that it would be a priority in 2024.

The fundamental rights guaranteed by the principles set by the OLYMPIC CHARTER are notably those of nondiscrimination whatever the motives invoked, and requirement of sheer neutrality that forbids any kind of political or religious demands or display.

Neutrality guarantees that all athletes, male and female, are treated equally.

It is not too early to remind those rules to the Paris Organizing Committee as an educational campaign is about to be launched for the promotion of the Olympic Principles towards the « 2024 Generation ».

Examples of breaches of the rules of sport by Saudi Arabia and Iran, detrimental to women, in the LEAFLET.
